Our Villa Maria was built in 1950 and completely renovated in 2022. With our vision, we honor its origins in a contemporary form and infuse a touch of grandezza italiana. The visual identity is the result of a collaboration between hoteliers Manuel Berger and Walter "Willy" Willimann, and artist Nina Staehli and designer Daniel Hunziker.
Nina Staehli developed a contemporary series of works for the Villa Maria, inspired – naturalmente – by the patron saint of the house: Maria! There are lots of Nina's sculptures and paintings to discover in our hotel rooms and suites.
Daniel Hunziker designed a multi-part linea di mobili especially for Villa Maria: inspired by the style of the 1950s, the collection is equal parts beautiful and functional. The interior is produced by Girsberger in Bützberg, Bern.
Hoteliers Manuel Berger and Walter "Willy" Willimann took care of the overall design of Villa Maria, from the salon tables to the Murano lamps, from the terrycloth linen to the smallest detail of the villa. They also manage Villa Maria and make sure everything runs smoothly without ever losing sight of the guests' satisfaction.
Another hotel, another furniture line – that necessity was clear to Manuel Berger and Walter "Willy" Willimann right from the start. It was equally clear to the hoteliers who they would bring on board for the design and production of the VM Collection: Daniel Hunziker and Girsberger.
